Containers are considered structures with self-contained frames that allow loading and transportation by various means. The most popular container group is marine containers.
Container mobility is a unique selling point that sets it apart from the other objects that build and stay in the container.
Loading and unloading of containers are carried out using the vertical LoLo method (lift-on / lift-off) and are carried out mainly by:
Reach Stackers
Reach Stackers are vehicles for handling intermodal cargo containers in small terminals or medium-sized ports. Reach stackers can transport containers over short distances very quickly and stack them in different rows depending on access.

Forklifts
Forklifts are powered industrial trucks for lifting and moving materials over short distances. Forklifts can lift up to 65,000 lbs.

Gantry Cranes (RTG)
Gantry cranes (RTG) are mobile cranes used in intermodal work to stack and lead containers to the floor. Inbound containers are stored for future collection by shipping vehicles, and outgoing containers are stored for future loading on ships.

Straddle Carriers
Straddle carriers are a great vehicle used in port terminals and intermodal yards that are used for stacking and moving ISO standard containers. This type of carrier lifts and carries the container while straddling the cargo and connects it to the upper lift point via the container spreader. Those spreaders lift containers and general cargo and have a locking mechanism at each corner to secure the four corners of the container.

Depending on the materials or type of goods that are being handled, there will be different types of transport that will be better to ensure the process ends up being safe and successful.
